What timber is used for the coat hook boards?
Our coat hook boards are made from solid rustic timber — chunky, characterful and full of natural grain variation. The timber is selected for its visual appeal as much as its structural strength. Each board will have its own unique personality — knots, grain patterns and natural colour variation that make it genuinely one of a kind. No two boards are ever exactly the same, and that's exactly the point.
Where do rustic coat hook boards work best?
Our timber coat hook boards are perfect for hallways, kitchens, boot rooms, utility rooms and back doors — anywhere that needs a practical and attractive solution for coats, bags, leads, hats and keys. The rustic timber and cast iron hooks suit period properties, farmhouses and cottages beautifully, but work just as well in modern homes where natural materials and textures are used to add warmth and character.
How are they fixed to the wall?
Every board comes pre-drilled with fixing holes and arrives with screws included. We recommend fixing into wall studs where possible for maximum strength — particularly for the 6 and 8 peg boards which will take more daily weight. Full fixing instructions are included with every order. If you have a specific wall type — stone, brick, plasterboard — just let us know and we can advise on the best approach.
Can I order a custom size or number of hooks?
Yes — if you need a specific length of board, a different number of hooks, or hooks spaced in a particular way, we can absolutely accommodate that. Just get in touch through our bespoke enquiries page and we'll quote for exactly what you need. All our pieces are made to order at Lower Foker Farm in Leek, Staffordshire and delivered anywhere across the UK.
