Meet the Team

Two equal partners, twenty years of craft, one workshop on a Staffordshire farm.

The People Behind Every Piece

Dan & Steve

Serendipity Woodcraft is just two people — two mates who've known each other since they were young teenagers, who both spent years working with wood, and who eventually decided to build something together that they genuinely believed in.

Everything you see on this site — every board, every table, every coat hook — comes out of one workshop at Lower Foker Farm in Leek, Staffordshire. Made by hand, by both of us.

Dan Turner

Partner

Dan and Steve worked side by side as joiners at the Breeze House Company for around ten years — so when it came to building Serendipity Woodcraft together, they already knew exactly how the other one worked. After Breeze House, Dan moved into coach building, specialising in bespoke camper van conversions — work that demands precision, creativity and real problem-solving in tight spaces. That meticulous attention to detail comes through in every piece that leaves the Lower Foker Farm workshop.

Steve Kell

Partner

Steve and Dan worked alongside each other as joiners at the Breeze House Company for around ten years before their careers took different directions. Steve went self-employed as a joiner — the kind of work where every job is different and your reputation is entirely built on the quality you deliver. That same approach carries straight into Serendipity Woodcraft, where no shortcuts are taken and every piece leaves the workshop only when both partners are satisfied with it.

The Serendipity Story

Dan and Steve have known each other since they were young teenagers — and both found their way independently into working with wood. They spent around ten years working together as joiners at the Breeze House Company, building the kind of working relationship and mutual respect that only comes from years of grafting alongside someone.

Life took them in different directions after that — Dan into coach building and camper van conversions, Steve into self-employed joinery — but the idea of working together again on something of their own never really went away.

Serendipity Woodcraft is that something. A business built on over forty years of combined woodworking experience and a shared belief that the things we surround ourselves with should be made properly — built to last, built to be loved, and built to Go Against the Grain.

What Drives Us

What We Believe In

Made by Hand

Every piece is shaped, finished and checked by hand. No shortcuts, no compromises, no factory involvement of any kind.

Quality Timber

We work with solid hardwood and pine — Sapele, Oak, Tulip, Canary Wood and Pine. Real timber with real character, chosen for every individual piece.

Built to Last

We make things properly because we believe in the slow furniture movement — pieces that become part of your home's story and get better with age.
