What timber do you use for your dining tables?

All of our rustic dining tables are made from solid hardwood — typically oak, ash or pine depending on the finish chosen. Each piece of timber is selected by hand for its grain, character and structural integrity. We never use MDF, veneers or composite materials. What you get is solid wood all the way through, built to be handed down through generations.

What size dining table do I need?

As a general guide, allow around 60cm of table width per person for comfortable dining. Our 120cm table seats 4 comfortably, the 150cm seats 4-6, and the 180cm seats 6-8 with plenty of elbow room. If you're unsure, get in touch and we'll help you work out the right size for your space — we do this all the time and it's no trouble at all.

Can I order a bespoke size?

Absolutely — all of our tables are made to order and we're very happy to work to your exact dimensions. Whether you have an awkward space, a specific number of people to seat, or simply want something that fits your room perfectly, just get in touch and we'll quote accordingly. Bespoke sizing is one of the things that sets handmade furniture apart from anything you'll find in a shop.

How long does a bespoke dining table take?

Typical lead time for a bespoke dining table is 4-6 weeks from order confirmation, depending on current workshop demand. We'll always give you an accurate timeframe when you enquire. Every table is made by hand at Lower Foker Farm in Leek, Staffordshire and delivered directly to you anywhere across the UK.

Which frame style should I choose?

The A-frame is our most traditional and sturdy design — ideal for a farmhouse kitchen or rustic dining room. The X-frame brings a more contemporary edge while keeping the handmade character. The pedestal base is perfect for smaller spaces or round tables where you need full leg room all around. All three are available in the same sizes and finish options — it really comes down to the look you're after.
